BPH Treatment: New Strategy
Current BPH for prostate enlargement treatments are with pills which distribute the drug throughout the body into every cell of the body. Yet, the treatment is only needed in the prostate. The remaining medicine goes everywhere else where it is not needed and can lead to side effects and unwanted long term toxicity.
Targeted BPH therapy is a new strategy whereby the medicine is introduced directly into the prostate so it goes where it matters and nowhere else. Fortunately, unlike most other organs, the prostate is readily accessible through the rectum.. This new strategy has been employed by several drug companies as a way to bypass the rest of the body and put the medicine where it is counts. Usually by means of a two-minute injection involving minimal discomfort. What’s better, some treatments are long lasting, only requiring infrequent repeat treatments.
